Armenian monasteries
In 2006 I started a series of paintings about monasteries and churches in the Caucasus. I especially focussed on Armenian architecture. The solid structures with their intricate carvings and walls full of exotic looking texts have a unique feel. This in combination with the rough landscape makes that one can experience divine presence here.
